Today is Thursday, September 14, 2023 and I can’t believe we’re half way done with this month already. Where does the time go? With the kids back at school and back to their after school activities, time is just flying by so fast. It’s been great seeing them get comfortably back into their routines but I must admit, I really miss having them around me all day. Nothing lasts forever…Summer break was bound to end eventually!
I’ve had three appointments this week…On Monday and Wednesday I had my occupational therapy appointments at PMR for my scoliosis and on Tuesday I had my weekly Zoom therapy session. My best friend joined me for Monday’s appointment and my sister joined me for Wednesday’s appointment…How lucky am I? Two special guests encouraging and supporting me…You can’t imagine how much this means to me. I’m so grateful to have them in my life. My scoliosis appointments continued to include the breathing exercises my therapist has taught me with a few new additions this week. These exercises are so tiring and leave me feeling depleted by the time our session is over…But if it means fixing my back in the long run then I’ll do them. My therapist explained to me my home program (pictured above) which I’ll be practicing from now until our next and final appointment next week and then I’ll continue working on it on my own at home until further notice.
My Zoom therapy session this week was one I truly enjoyed…I’m starting to dig deep and understand myself better. There’s some work required on my part to reach my true authentic self but it’s work I’m ready to take on. It won’t happen over night but I’m glad I’ve started this journey.
In terms of my medication this week, I’ve gone back down to the lowest dose of my cortisone medicine as instructed by my doctor. It’s been a few days of me being on this dose and so far things seem to be ok الحمد لله. I have my routine bloodwork on Sunday as well as my follow-up appointment with my rheumatologist. Until then, I hope you all enjoy your weekend and get the much needed rest and care we should all be giving ourselves.
اللهم عافني في بدني اللهم عافني في سمعي، اللهم عافني في بصري. اللهم رب الناس أذهب البأس أشفي أنت الشافي، لا شفاء إلا شفاؤك، شفاء لا يغادر سقما.
