Let’s Celebrate!

Today is Sunday, September 17, 2023 and I’m SO happy! I had my blood test at Amiri Hospital this morning and as you can see from the picture above (drum roll) for the first time in a very, very long time my CK level is finally within the normal range!!! ألف الحمد لله! No you don’t understand, I had to double take to make sure I was reading it correctly. Let’s not forget my CK level was 8281 back in May and look where it’s at today. I knew this day would come eventually, I just didn’t expect it to be today…Especially since right after doing my blood test at the laboratory this morning, I went up to the 6th floor to see my doctor and she mentioned that since my CK level was actually rising slightly the past two blood tests, there was a chance it could stay in that range or maybe even increase slightly. She also mentioned that one of her patients’ CK level never reached the normal range but she lived a regular life regardless. So I was honestly not expecting to see this result today at all…I still can’t believe it actually! ألف الحمد لله! I was so also pleasantly surprised at how fast the results came out today…I usually have to keep checking, and refreshing the Q8Seha application for hours or even until the next day before I get the results so yay, lucky me! I shared my results with my doctor as soon as I saw them and she was just as thrilled as I was! My doctor and my husband both told me at the same time that I should celebrate! Honestly, this definitely calls for a celebration. الحمد لله, الحمد لله, الحمد لله! My protein level is still low but at least it’s come up since my last blood test. I’m still taking all my protein supplements daily and thankfully that’s paying off. My doctor was happy to see me feeling well physically and told me to keep doing all the exercises I’ve been doing. She told me to maintain my cortisone dosage for another 2 weeks, when it’ll be time for my next blood test, and we’ll take it from there. I hope and pray my CK level stays within the normal range with no surprises to come. While we were at the hospital earlier I passed by to see my physical therapist and the SLP doctors who were part of my treatment team during my hospital stay. We’ve stayed in touch since I left the hospital and I see them briefly from time to time whenever I’m at Amiri for any of my appointments. They’re all wonderful doctors that I’m truly thankful came into my life at a time I really needed them. Never forget those who’ve helped you in any journey you’ve gone through. Today is a great day and tomorrow will be better ان شاء الله.

الحمد لله حبّاً، والحمد لله شكراً، والحمد لله يوماً وشهراً، والحمد لله عُمراً، والحمد لله في السرّاء والضراء، والحمد لله على ما قسمه الله لنا.
