Family Support

Today is Monday, August 14, 2023 and I was genuinely looking forward to going to PMR today because my sister told me she wanted to join me! Lucky me! Unfortunately my OT couldn’t make it to our session today so my sister only got to see me ‘at work’ during my PT session. Still, I was thrilled that I had her by my side for some support and motivation. Thankfully my therapist was back from her sick leave and I was feeling better today so I knew I could handle what was coming my way. We picked up where we left off last week…Ankle weights on, all the exercises were done standing, 20 repetitions each! It was such a work out! There was one exercise on the stairs that was super challenging and got my heart rate up to 167 bpm! I don’t remember the last time my heart rate reached this number. I must say, I was proud of myself today and honestly a big part of what was pushing me was my sister’s presence there. Thank you Reem, for today and for everyday.

For anyone going through anything challenging, and I’m sure everyone’s got something they’re going through, support is always important and it should never be underestimated. I’ve been so lucky so have so much support around me, whether it’s from family, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, doctors, or nurses, you name it. I don’t think I’d be where I am today if wasn’t for all the support around me. ألف الحمد لله.

Speaking of being thankful, I got my results this morning from my yesterday’s bloodwork and I’m so happy my CK levels are continuing to go down. I’m almost within the normal range! Although my protein levels are still low, they’ve gone up slightly. I’m glad all the extra protein powder I’ve been adding to my food seems to be working. Today is a good day and I hope tomorrow will be as well.

اللهم لا تحرم أحبتي سعة رحمتك، وسبوغ نعمتك، وشمول عافيتك، وجزيل عطائك.
