Today is Sunday January 5, 2025 and I can’t believe how fast time has flown by! First of all, Happy New Year everyone!! Wishing you all a blessed year filled with good health, peace, joy and prosperity for you and your loved ones. I also can’t believe that my last post was back in August. I guess in a way that’s been a good thing…Not much has been happening medically that I’ve needed to report. الحمد لله. I did have my three month bloodwork check-up at the end of October and thankfully all my results came back normal. The only thing was that I was deficient in my Vitamin D and I had to take weekly supplements for 2 months but thankfully there wasn’t anything else that was more serious. My next bloodwork will be at the end of this month and hopefully the results will all be normal again. I’ve been waiting in much anticipation for January to come around because I knew there would be some good news to report. Drum roll please…I CAN FINALLY START TAPERING OFF MY IMMUNOSUPPRESSENT MEDICATION! Woohoo! This is very exciting news for me. I know that it’ll be a very gradual and slow tapering process but nonetheless, it means positive progress for me. I’m so thankful this day has come and hopefully my body responds well to this new change and maybe, before we know it, I could be off my medication completely. ان شاء الله يا رب.
On a personal note, I decided to continue with the coaching program that I started last March and I’m currently working on my certification. I started at the end of October and the online program ends by the end of April. I will have until the end of October this year to complete all my requirements (coaching hours) and take my exam to officially be certified. It felt really overwhelming at the beginning and I wasn’t sure if I was cut out for it…But I’ve learned to take it easy and enjoy the process. The program has been keeping me busy in a good way and it feels nice to be learning a new skill that can help me and those around me. I’ve also agreed to be a case study at The 6th Kuwait PM&R conference that’s going to be held from January 9-11. I’ve been sharing a lot of information about my medical journey with a doctor from PMR here in Kuwait who asked if I didn’t mind her presenting my case at the conference. Of course I didn’t mind…If there’s any way I could help the medical field learn more about dermatomyositis then I’ll do it. I hope my case, and any of the information presented about my journey, will be truly beneficial to the doctors attending.
.اللهمّ لك الحمد كلّه، ولك الشكر كلّه، وإليك يرجع الأمر كلّه علا نيّته وسرّه
