Today is Tuesday, April 22, 2025 and I can’t believe how time is flying by. My last post was in January when I first started tapering off my immunosuppressant medication. Thankfully my 3-month bloodwork at the end of January was great and I just completed my latest bloodwork this week and الحمد لله the results are excellent. You know what that means…My body has been responding well to the lower dosage and I can now reduce my medication even more! Woohoo! I’m very thankful and blessed at the way things have been working out. Yes, I’ve learned that I have to be patient and to never have any expectations, but thankfully things have been working in my favor so far ألف الحمد لله.
But this is life and things don’t always go our way right? I’ve actually been a little sick the past few days – I may have caught a virus from the dust storm we got last week…Who knows. I don’t usually get sick so it always throws me off when I do, especially since it hits me harder now than it used to because of the medication that I’m on. It’s day 6 of being home, resting and trying to recover…But thankfully I’ve been getting better and better each day. It’s at times like these that I’m reminded, yet again, of just how fragile our health can be. Never take it for granted!
I’ll be setting up appointments next month for my annual screening tests – mammogram, tumor markers, endoscopy/colonoscopy, pap-smear, and CT for chest, abdomen, pelvis. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s been (almost) two years since I was diagnosed. Sometimes it feels like sooooooo much has happened in the past two years and other times it feels like it was just yesterday. I’m grateful for everything I’ve gone through because it’s helped shape me into the person I am today…not necessarily a better version of my old self but definitely a different one.
So to wrap up, today is a great day ان شاء الله. First, I start reducing my medication dosage! And second, I have my last online class for the coaching program that I’m in. Yipee! I still need to complete my coaching hours and take my exam to be officially certified but step-by-step, I’ll get there. I’ll keep you posted on the results of my screening tests next month. Until then, stay safe and healthy and enjoy life to the max!
